Productive new features

The latest macOS and iPadOS updates bring great new tools

-

APPLE HAS BEEN steadily improving its built–in apps over the last few years. Having made big changes to Messages and FaceTime, Notes hasn’t been left out. While the biggest news in macOS Monterey is Quick Note, which makes system– wide access to notes quick and easy, there are several other new features.

These include support for tagging notes to make them easier to categorize and find; the ability to ‘@‘ other users to alert them to something that needs their attention; custom smart folders; tracked changes for individual notes; and an activity view that displays changes made to notes while you were away.

All these updates come on top of improvements — such as the addition of collaborative working — that were made in previous versions. Add in the fact that you can scribble notes on an iPad and pull them directly into Notes on the Mac thanks to Continuity, and together, they make it a very real alternative to third–party tools.
