SHARED IN iCLOUD

IN ADDITION TO the regular iCloud Drive folder in the sidebar of Finder windows and elsewhere, Monterey adds a new folder for folders and files that are shared through iCloud. First, an item needs to be copied or moved to your iCloud Drive. To share a selected folder or file, use the Share item in the File menu or the contextual menu. Some apps also support the direct sharing of an open document using their Share button. You’ll then be invited to decide who can access the document, what permissions they have, and which app you want to use to send them the link. To control access to an item you’ve shared, or get a link to it to tell someone where to find it, select the item in the Finder, and in the Share item in the File menu select Manage Shared File. When you’ve shared a whole folder, you can’t change options for individual files within it, only the whole folder.
