Use Passwords instead of authentication apps
On some websites that support two–factor authentication, you can use Passwords instead of a dedicated authenticator app. This means that you will enter the code on your Mac and not an iPhone. To set it up, you’ll need to visit the website and get an authentication key. You then navigate to the Edit screen for the account in System Preferences > Passwords, choose Enter Setup Key and paste in the key. When you need to log in to the website, go to the account in Passwords and you will see the time–limited verification key.
