HOW TO Set up different Focus sessions

Create a Personal focus

Launch Settings and tap Focus. Tap Personal. Tap Next. Tap “+” to choose who to allow notificati­ons from, then Calls from to choose who can call you. Then choose an option, or No One.

Custom Home Screen

Move the apps to a new Home Screen page. In Settings > Focus, tap the Focus you want to use. Tap Home Screen. Toggle Custom Pages to on. Tap the page you created, then Done.

Create a Custom Focus

In Settings > Focus, tap “+” then Custom. Type a name for your focus. Tap Next. Choose who to allow to contact you. Choose allowed apps, then tap Allow. Tap Done.

Allowed Apps

Under Allowed Apps, tap “–” or Remove All to remove those suggested, or “+” to allow different apps. Toggle the switch to allow time– sensitive notificati­ons from all apps. Tap Allow to confirm then tap Done.

Automate your focus

In Settings > Focus, tap the focus to automate. Tap Add Schedule or Automation. Tap Time, Location, or App to start it based on those, or tap Smart Activation to let iOS choose.

Control Center

Swipe down from the top right of the screen to display the Control Center. Tap Focus. Tap the Focus you want to activate. To specify how long it should be active for, tap the three dots (…) and choose an option from the list.

Set options for focus

Tap Focus Status to choose whether to share your status in Messages. Tap Lock Screen to dim the Lock Screen while you’re focusing or to show or hide silenced notificati­ons.

Create a Driving focus

Tap “+” in Focus. Tap Driving then Next. Choose who to allow to contact you. Tap Turn Driving on Automatica­lly to allow iOS to turn on the focus when you connect to your car’s Bluetooth.

Sync across devices

To use the focuses you created across all your devices, you need to be signed in with the same Apple ID on them. Tap Settings > Focus, then toggle Share Across Devices to the On position.
