HOW TO Add motion with Overlays

Choose an Overlay

In the Photoshop Elements 2022 Editor choose File > Open. Browse to a shot. Click Open. Choose Enhance > Moving Overlays. Click to select an appropriate graphic from the Overlay panel.

Playback

Click the playback icon to see a preview of the Overlay’s floating particles. Here, dandelion seeds fly around the frame. Click the Protect Subject box to make the particles float behind the main subject.

Refine Overlay

To control the particles, click Refine Overlay. Click Subtract. Check the Show Selection box. Spray to define where particles should be invisible and the red mask disappears. Click Export to make a movie.
