How to create a visual record

-

If you use an iPhone for capturing the items in your collection, you can use the resultant images for more than just viewing. While it is very useful to take the best photos possible to highlight the condition of each item, there is more data available that can help to complete the record of your collection.

ADD SOME CAPTIONS

Tap the “i” icon to view all of the data about any photo in the Photos app and then tap the top bar to insert a caption. Make this as detailed as you need and you can then search for that item at any time.

THE TECHNICAL DETAILS

The technical data under the “i” option will help you to understand what settings work best and what you should do in the future to bring a consistent look and feel to your entire collection. Remember, practice makes perfect.

CLEAR AND PRECISE

A good quality image will make the collection feel more lifelike and if you use captions you could, for example, keep three images in your collection app and have access to many others at any time by searching in Photos.

WHERE WAS IT?

It can add useful context to an object to be able to view where it was when a particular snap was shot. The map view in Photos will also help to bring together all of the images for an item.
