HOW TO Create GIFs using GIF Maker by Momento
1 Get started
Download GIF Maker from the App Store and launch it. Follow the on–screen instructions to select the categories you’re interested in. On the next screen you’ll see the images GIF Maker has chosen from your Library.
2 Create a GIF
Scroll through the images until you find one you want to use, then tap it. The next screen is the Editor, where you’ll create your GIF. Tap “Aa” to add text to the GIF and type the text you want to add on the keyboard.
3 Edit the text
To change the font, tap the font name at the top of the screen. Tap it again to cycle through available fonts. Tap the colored dot to change the text color. Tap outside the text to exit the editor. Drag the text into position.
4 Add a sticker
Tap the sticker button, next to “Aa”. Scroll through the stickers and emoji and tap one to add it to your GIF. Drag it around the screen to place it. Pinch and unpinch on the screen over the sticker to change its size.
5 Add another image
To add more photos, tap Edit in the toolbar then scroll through the images in your library. When you find one you want to add, tap it to add it to the timeline. To remove an image from the timeline, double–tap it.
6 Change the speed
If the speed of the animation isn’t what you want, tap Speed and drag the slider left to slow it down, or right to speed it up. Tap Done to exit. To trim the start or end of the GIF, tap Trim and drag the handles inwards.
7 Frame your GIF
The Frames button enables you to add a frame to your GIF. Tap it, scroll through the options and tap a frame to add it. Tap Done. You can’t resize a frame, so may have to move other elements to accommodate it.
8 Add an AR effect
AR effects add animated images over your GIF, but behind the frame, a bit like effects in Apple’s Messages app. Tap AR, scroll through the effects and tap one to preview it. If you like it, Tap Done to return to the main screen.
9 Save and share
To save your GIF, tap Save then choose a format and the quality. Tap Save GIF. To share your GIF on Messages, WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook Messenger, tap Share, choose the format and quality and tap the app.
