Keep on burning

-

What’s the best software for burning Video_TS movies to a DVD? I have macOS Ventura on a five–year–old iMac, and I use Toast Titanium 18 but it keeps burning coasters. The movies are not complete, with no menu and not much else that should be there. I don’t find the customer support particularly good either.

JOHN POLJACK

Good question John. Have you heard of Wondershare UniConverter? If not, we’ve got a review of it in the next issue: it’s a capable video converter and burning tool. There’s also a free trial (you can only burn 1/3 of the length of your video — this means a wasted DVD to test its effectiveness, but you could check to see if it works for you). The paid–for version is $59.99/year ($99.99 one–off), which is pretty reasonable if you’re using it fairly regularly.

Link it all up

In the digital version of Mac|Life, it’s disappointing that there is no way to click through to the items mentioned in your articles, especially “Best of the Best” on my iPad. Come on — direct links to websites have been available for ages; you can’t even highlight them to cut and paste, though that, to be honest, I can understand. You should at least be able to click on the item, company or vendor and be sent to that item’s company or website. Thanks for listening. CHARLIE GIBSON

We greatly appreciate the feedback of our readers — so much so, that for the last few issues all links are clickable/ tappable in future. It takes a while for us to implement and check these every month, but if our readers feel that it’s worth having, then we’re happy with the extra work.
