Last chance for a say on plastic bags

Manjimup-Bridgetown Times - - News -

THE community’s last chance to comment on the State-wide ban of lightweight single-use plastic bags is fast approaching.

Submissions for community comment will close on Friday, with the ban set to be imposed from July 1.

So far almost 88 per cent of the 2500 respondents have supported the ban, a State Government statement said.

“We want to hear from West Australians on how we can help you get ready for July 1, when retailers will no longer be able to provide plastic bags to their customers,” Environment Minister Stephen Dawson said.
