Chance to be up close with Noelle and classics

Bridgetown Rotary Club’s Up Close and Classical annual concert will be held in a few weeks to raise money for a new local drug action group.

The first concert was held in 2006 and it has continued to run each year to fundraise for different community projects run by local groups.

Bridgetown Rotary Club president Lachlan Stone said the new action group would help address an important issue for the local community.

“It’s a pervasive problem in most communities but there’s no open conversation about it,” he said.

“If we can address issues like this in an open forum we can help better overcome them, rather than ignore them.”

This years principal soloist is WAAPA graduate and piano player Noelle Zhao, who also performed at last year’s event.

The concert will be held at Bridgetown Repertory Theatre on October 13 at 7.30pm with pre-concert drinks at 7pm.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $15 for students or concession and are available at the Bridgetown Community Resource Centre.
