Tel­stra win­ner urges women to nom­i­nate

Nom­i­na­tions for the Tel­stra Busi­ness Women’s Awards are open and last year’s State win­ner is en­cour­ag­ing lo­cal women to get in­volved.

Fresh Pro­duce Al­liance man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Jen­nie Franceschi was the 2017 Tel­stra Aus­tralian Cor­po­rate and Pri­vate Award and WA Busi­ness Woman of the Year.

“Win­ning the award made me look at my­self and see the strengths that at times, I never re­and alised I had,” she said. “It gave me a stronger sense of self-worth and be­lief in my ca­pac­ity to make a dif­fer­ence.

“Since win­ning, my net­work has broad­ened and I have had many re­quests to speak at events.

“I have been mo­ti­vated to find new ways to em­power women.”

The five cat­e­gories of the 2019 Tel­stra Busi­ness Women’s Awards are small busi­ness, medium and large busi­ness, pub­lic sec­tor and academia, for pur­pose so­cial en­ter­prise and, fi­nally, emerg­ing leader.

Tel­stra Busi­ness Women’s Awards am­bas­sador and chief op­er­a­tions of­fi­cer Robyn Den­holm said the awards, now in their 24th year, were about recog­nis­ing out­stand­ing women who were trans­form­ing the way busi­ness was done.

Nom­i­na­tions can be made at t el st ra busi­ness­women saw nom­i­nate and are open un­til Novem­ber 8.
