Telstra winner urges women to nominate
Nominations for the Telstra Business Women’s Awards are open and last year’s State winner is encouraging local women to get involved.
Fresh Produce Alliance managing director Jennie Franceschi was the 2017 Telstra Australian Corporate and Private Award and WA Business Woman of the Year.
“Winning the award made me look at myself and see the strengths that at times, I never reand alised I had,” she said. “It gave me a stronger sense of self-worth and belief in my capacity to make a difference.
“Since winning, my network has broadened and I have had many requests to speak at events.
“I have been motivated to find new ways to empower women.”
The five categories of the 2019 Telstra Business Women’s Awards are small business, medium and large business, public sector and academia, for purpose social enterprise and, finally, emerging leader.
Telstra Business Women’s Awards ambassador and chief operations officer Robyn Denholm said the awards, now in their 24th year, were about recognising outstanding women who were transforming the way business was done.
