Ian and April Pianta from Southern Roasting in Manjimup have always been conscious about providing quality coffee through their own specialty blends.

“Fresh coffee is available here to take home and we can grind your coffee here, which not many people know. However you brew your coffee we’ve got stuff for you,” Mrs Pianta said.

The type of coffee they use changes based on what is in season.

“We use the full coffee belt which is typically grown at altitude on the equator, so bit of African, South-East Asian and a lot of Central American coffee too,” Mr Pianta said.

They have used Australian coffee in limited releases, often this can cost about $60 a kilogram. Southern Roasting also runs a three-hour barista course once a month which i limited to seven spots on each course. People can book to the course through the Pemberton CRC.
