All invited to inclusive community day
Manjimup Home and Community Care invites people to help celebrate International Day of People with Disability on December 3, at 2pm in the Manjimup Wellness and Respite Community Centre.
This year the focus is on empowering people with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality.
The Manjimup Shire Council’s Growth, Resilience, Opporwill tunity and Wellness (GROW) program will include a young inspirational guest speaker, dancers and a free afternoon tea.
Fifteen-year-old William Boulton will share his story about inclusion and success in a local football team.
Candance, a heartwarming dance troupe led by Bunbury dance instructor Collette Howard, who has created magic with her South West dancers with intellectual disabilities, also be in attendance.
As a registered disability provider, there will be plenty of information about support programs and inclusive activities.
Shire president Paul Omodei said he encouraged the community to come along to this inclusive event, learn about what innovative disability services and support are available and to enjoy this important day which is celebrated internationally.
The Candance dance troupe will perform at Manjimup Wellness and Respite Community Centre on Monday.
