Santa slides into town for an early visit

Fa­ther Christ­mas vis­ited Man­jimup last week in the lead up to the fes­tive sea­son to get some prac­tice on the gi­ant slide. Speak­ing to the Man­jimup-Bridgetown Times on Fri­day, he said the slide at Man­jimup Tim­ber Park was per­fect for get­ting ready to slide down chim­neys.

“Ever since I heard of the slide be­ing in­stalled, I’ve been look­ing for­ward to prac­tis­ing on it,” he said.

“It’s a lot of fun and a lot less sooty that ac­tual chim­neys.”

Fa­ther Christ­mas said he looked for­ward to re­turn­ing to the Lower South West re­gion next week on Christ­mas Eve.

“There’s still plenty of time be­tween now and Christ­mas and I have plenty of time to re-check my lists,” he said.

“With the re­gion be­ing so warm over Christ­mas, I al­ways re­ally ap­pre­ci­ate milk and cook­ies and car­rots for my rein­deer.

“As some­one who trav­els long dis­tances over the fes­tive sea­son, I ask peo­ple to be care­ful on the road.”
