A cool way to celebrate the new year
Eli, 6, and Damien Hunt, cool down in the water with an inflatable tube at Fonty’s Pool on New Year’s Day. The pool was one of many popular destinations to celebrate the new year, along with Big Brook Dam and Manjimup’s Timber Park.
The new year brought with it perfect swimming weather which people at Fonty’s Pool took full advantage of yesterday.
Fonty’s Pool owner Kelly Beissel said the caravan park was fully booked up until the January long weekend.
“It usually is most years and people often come to use the pool we have on New Year’s Day,” she said.
“It is not only people staying at the park though, we let anyone come and use the pool for a small fee and so local people are here to celebrate the new year as well.”
The majority of people started to arrive about 10.30am to swim and use the diving board and inflatables at the pool.
