Well done Julie

Mansfield Courier - - OPINIONS/PEOPLE - Bill Sykes, (MLA, Benalla), Parliamentary Secretary for Primary Industries

I WRITE to congratulate Mansfield teacher Julie Aldous on being selected as a finalist for the Victorian Coalition Government’s 2014 Rural Women’s Award.

Julie’s passion for implementing the award winning, innovative food and fibre agribusiness course at Mansfield Secondary College has seen her be awarded a Victorian Education Excellence Award and a NAB Impact Award.

Over the past two years Julie has supported the development of food and fibre programs in schools across Australia and the program has become a model used by many schools throughout the country.

Under the guidance of Julie, the Mansfield agribusiness program has fostered strong local networks between Mansfield Secondary College, students, farmers and agribusinesses.

Agribusiness remains an important part of Mansfield’s economy and way of life and Julie has made an outstanding contribution to this sector.

The Victorian winner will be announced at Parliament House on March 13 and Julie would be a deserving recipient.
