Goughs Bay Art and Craft Show Good crowd enjoys opening night over Australia Day weekend
IT was a very busy time for Goughs Bay over the Australia Day long weekend.
Friday night saw the opening of the ninth Goughs Bay Art and Craft Show with many attending an opening night of wine and food.
Local Steve Jordan was singing and playing the guitar while people walked around browsing the art works on show.
The official opening saw Bob Forster welcome everyone and pass over to David Roff who has opened many of the shows over the years, this time as himself.
Organiser Caral Burrell then thanked Bob Forster for his help with the show and everyone who helped her.
She then introduced Vicki Thomas, the guest artist for the weekend.
Vicki Thomas (Dragonfly Creations) had a variety of work on show from paintings, sculptures and cake decoration.
Some of her garden art was outstanding and a post that Ned Kelly lent on was the talk of the weekend.
There were some changes for the boat club for the weekend.
The club has a new look color, having been painted recently and down stairs there is now a beautiful mural painted in three sections by Katie Brumley, which ties in with the overall color scheme.
Saturday night was a fun night with a tattoo competition, with many different sections to judge and ‘pretend’ stick on tattoos for people who didn’t have one.
A fun weekend was had for all who came.
