Register now for Mansfield Do It! expo
MANSFIELD Do It! community and careers festival will come to life in High Street on Monday, March 31 and be a great opportunity to promote local sports, activities, clubs and groups, and career opportunities.
Registrations are open now and all local clubs, groups and organisations are encouraged to be involved.
The festival was named ‘Mansfield Do It! as its key aim is to encourage locals to get involved, have a go and take the next step in being part of their community or mapping out a career.
The festival will feature walking tours of local businesses and organisations to showcase career paths.
There will also be expo style displays, have-a-go opportunities, entertainment and a fun, family friendly atmosphere.
Walking tours for secondary school students through various businesses and organisations in Mansfield will take place early in the afternoon so students can discuss career paths first hand.
Co-ordinated by Julie Aldous and Peter Olver, the tours will run from 1pm with the twilight festival open from 3pm – 7pm, so anyone interested can wander through after school or work.
“It’s surprising, but there are more than 120 groups listed on the Mansfield Shire community directory,” said shire mayor Ray Robinson.
“Mansfield Shire offers an extensive range of activities, sports and interests from arts to environment to progress associations and a wide variety of active recreation.
“This is going to be a really eyeopening event.
“Mansfield Do It! will give groups an opportunity to promote themselves and those looking for new interests the chance to connect.”
Cr Robinson added that the careers advice on offer will highlight the exciting career opportunities and pathways available to residents.
“This is going to be a huge celebration of a great community,” he said.
The event is being delivered in partnership with Mansfield Shire Council, Mansfield Secondary College, MACE, Mansfield District Business Association and NE Tracks/LLEN.
Expressions of interest are invited from the following to take part in Mansfield Do It!: * community groups and organisations; * sports and recreation clubs and groups; * service providers; and * businesses and organisations promoting career opportunities.
