Catering for 5000 great bike riders
AN estimated 5000 bike riders are expected to descend on Mansfield in December (3-5) 2015 - and all need feeding and entertaining.
So, if you think your business or community group can help cater for this number, then you should get along to the Great Victorian Bike Ride Forum in Mansfield on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 5.30pm to 7pm at the Mansfield Shire Council chambers in Highett Street.
Mayor Ray Robinson explained that council had secured the two night, one day rest day of the Great Victorian Bike Ride for Mansfield on behalf of i t s businesses and community.
“There will be demand for ent ertainment, food, beverage and visitor activities that may or may not involve bikes - and lots of coffee,” Cr Robinson said.
The participants will mostly camp at the Mansfield Showgrounds but a large number are expected to use the break to stay in accommodation and get out of the tent.
While some will want to relax cafe style, others will want to get out and about and explore what our amazing destination has to offer.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our destination and it’s imperative that we meet and exceed our visitors’ expectations,” Cr Robinson said.
Business and community group representatives are invited to attend an open forum to discuss how we can host a fantastic experience, meet and exceed the event participants’ expectations, plan for the numerous opportunities for businesses and community groups to profit from, and form a working group to ensure maximum benefit from the event.
