College leadership group unveiled
TOWARD the end of 2013 Mansfield Secondary College (MSC) students voted for their school captains for 2014.
Congratulations go to those successful - Ethan Doyle and Willa Marker Reynolds, with vice captains Harry Green and Mel Challen.
“All four of our year 12 students will have a busy year concentrating on their VCE studies, but they are also passionate about introducing and encouraging goals for the whole school community,” MSC principal Tim Hall said.
“They each bring to the team a variety of skills and dreams of what they would like to achieve.
“On a broader front, student leadership opportunities abound within the college, particularly for junior students, the Student Representative Council offers an opportunity to work as part of a team to influence decision making in the college and to further develop the college from the ‘ground up’.”
Ethan Doyle would like to implement an electronic management system of all sports equipment for both students and staff to ensure a smooth, quick and easier operation for all concerned.
Willa Marker Reynolds wants to improve parent involvement with the school canteen, more seating equipment around the school and recycling in classrooms.
Mel Challen wants to inspire kids to make good choices and advise students of the numerous options that the school has to offer such as the many diverse excursions.
Harry Green is looking to encourage more outdoor music per- formances starting at the grassroots level of the performing arts within the school - such as utilising the opportunities on sausage sizzle days, casual dress days and special school events.
Both captains and vice capt ai ns will be communicating regularly to students and parents via the various school newsletters and school website, as well as the local paper.
