Apprenticeship finishes with outstanding award

Mansfield Courier - - NEWS -

MANSFIELD hairdresser at SK Hairworks, Casey Lehman, has just completed her trade apprenticeship at Wangaratta GOTAFE in hairdressing.

In her final year she was awarded the ‘Outstanding third year apprentice’ award, based on coursework.

Hairdressing teacher, Carmel Cook, said Casey’s work ethic was outstanding.

“Whenever anything had to be done it was always on time and completed to the highest standard,” she said.

“Her practical work was always done to joint satisfaction - hers and mine.

“She goes about her business quietly – very unassuming.”

With the dual pressure of both a salon to run and her coursework, it is amazing Casey managed to finish her course around six months early.

While a student, she was often chosen to attend master classes at city hairdressers.

Casey is still as keen as ever about her award and her pursuit of hairdressing as a career.

“I’d just like to keep on doing what I’m doing,” she said.

“It’s fun because I like meeting different people.”

HAIR TRAFFIC: Casey Lehman recently won the ‘Outstanding third year apprentice’ award from the Goulburn Ovens TAFE, where she has just finished her apprenticeship.
