Arts council same as before after AGM
THE Arts Council of Mansfield returned its executive intact after its annual general meeting last week.
As before, Lee Huber is president, Liz Bannister vice president, the treasurer is Melinda Grant and the secretary George Manis.
“Late last year the arts council submitted a grants application requesting funds to assist with the production of an Arts and Culture brochure for our region,” Ms Huber said.
“And we were delighted to find out recently that our application has been successful.
“The grant is through the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal – Small Grants for Rural Communities program (Round 24) - and we have received $2880 in grant funds to be used towards the production of our brochure.
“The foundation advised they received in excess of 500 grant applications in Round 24 and we were one of only 120 successful recipients.
“Our application’s success was largely helped by the strong support received from the community.
“We were provided with letters of support for the idea from Mansfield Shire, Mt Buller Mt Stirling Management Board, Yooralla, Upper Goulburn Wine Food and Culture Group, Mansfield District Hospital Auxiliary and Kinloch Wines, Mansfield District Business Association, the National Alpine Museum and the Mansfield Mt Buller Regional Tourism Association.
The arts council has now formed a working group to begin production on the brochure, with a July date to have the brochure completed and ready for distribution.
It is expected this brochure will be an integral piece of marketing collateral for the Mansfield region.
