Contributions handed out
THE latest round of dispersements of Mansfield and District Community Bank community contributions funding was held last Friday.
Welcoming the attendees, bank chairman, Tim Ross, noted the large number of groups raising money for a number of causes.
“The community bank is very pleased to support a large number of these projects,” he said.
“There is a huge demand for funds with applications in this round totalling $135,000.
“We have been able to grant some $17,325 in this round, with the accumulated amount to the community totalling $324,325.”
Mr Ross added that the ability to give money back to the community is based on the amount of custom through the branch.
Bank manager Matt Currie handed out certificates to the successful groups.
The groups and projects were:
Arts Council of Mansfield - Mansfield 3 Faces portrait prize biennial;
Bindaree Auxiliary - Shade sails;
Deakin Allen and Marj Coombs Children’s Welfare Trust - Costs associated with medical treatment for children living in Mansfield district;
Jamieson Community Group and Assoc. Bodies Inc. - Jamieson Autumn Festival;
Mansfield and District Equestrian Club (MADEC) - MADEC Official HRCAV Horse Trials 2014;
Mansfield Agricultural and Pastoral Society - Park Seats for the Arena Viewing Area;
Mansfield Swimming Club - Community Barbecue at Mansfield Swimming Pool;
Mansfield Musical and Dramatic Society (MMuDS) - Mansfield Young Players Theatre Workshops.
