Lit­tle Ath­let­ics com­plete fi­nal lap

THE last night of the Mans­field Lit­tle Ath­let­ics sea­son was warm and full of color as it was dress up night.

Capes and tu­tus seemed to be the theme of the night, al­though there were a num­ber of com­peti­tors look­ing for­ward to their win­ter sport, com­ing dressed in their team col­ors.

Un­der six fin­ished off with 70m and shot put, with Amy Les and Jaspa Robin­son record­ing per­sonal bests (PB) in the shot put and Os­car Guppy and Amy Les saved their best til last in the 70m.

Win­ners were Ri­ley Adams 70m, shot put; Bella Stoney 70m; Ca­lypso His­lop shot put.

Un­der seven Sam Guppy had a com­pet­i­tive night record­ing a per­sonal best in the long jump, and Remy Steven­son also recorded her big­gest leap of the sea­son.

Win­ners were Sam Guppy 70m, 100m, and long jump; Remy Steven­son 70m, 100m, long jump.

Un­der eight Andrew Thom­son and Ben Les bat­tled it out in the 200m push­ing each other to their best for the year.

Han­nah Allen con­tin­ued to show her class with some fan­tas­tic per­for- mances for the night, and win­ners were Andrew Thom­son 70m, 200m, high jump; Han­nah Allen 70m, 200m, high jump.

In un­der nine, Will Roberts and Bray­den Van Win­den saved their best ‘til last in the high jump each record­ing a per­sonal best in a very close fin­ish.

Saskia Haslau also showed plenty of spring with a per­sonal best jump and earn­ing her­self a star of the week award.

Win­ners were Bray­den Van Win­den 100m, 200m; Will Roberts high jump; Eadie Lind­say 100m, 200m; Tahlia Brown­ing high jump.

Un­der 10s Elise Em­pey had a great run in the 100m for a per­sonal best, Elly Cham­ber­lain had her best in the 200m, and Bai­ley Adams had a great leap in the triple jump, his best for the sea­son.

Win­ners were Bai­ley Adams 100m, 200m, shot put, triple jump; Elise Em­pey 100m, 200m, shot put, triple jump.

Un­der 11 Harry Mu­rakami and Lachie La­mont con­tin­ued to show us their best per­for­mances, as did El­lie Her­bert and Grace Hood.

Win­ners were Lach­lan Scales 100m,200m; Lachie La­mont triple jump; El­lie Her­bert 100m, 200m; Grace Hood triple jump.

Un­der 12s nine out of 11 com­peti­tors recorded their best throw for the sea­son, while Zach Sali­gari also showed his best in the 200m and long jump.

Win­ners were Colby Crox­fordDe­masi 100m, 200m, long jump; Fletcher Cooper shot put; Riana Allen 100m, 200m, long jump, shot put.

It was great to see the over age com­peti­tors con­tinue to push them­selves with Wil­lis Lines, Elly Hardi­man, Darcy Crox­ford-De­masi and Grace Scales all achiev­ing per­sonal bests.

Brit­ney Allen is an ex­cep­tional ath­lete who has achieved many great per­for­mances through the sea­son, she had three of her best on the night and earned her­self the Mans­field Pizza Award in the fi­nal night of com­pe­ti­tion.

A sausage siz­zle and awards night will be held at the Lords ground on Fri­day, March 28 at 5pm, it would be great to see all com­peti­tors there.
