Delatite loses top spot

THE game against St Joseph’s last Saturday was not a very good lead-in to the finals which will be in three weeks’ time, where Delatite will be facing up to the Violet Town powerhouse who have now jumped over them into first position on the Cleary Shield ladder.

St Joseph’s won the toss on Saturday and batted compiling a good score of 8/214.

The Delatite bowling saw Aaron Madsen take 3/64, Nathan Purcell 2/41, Ross Brown 2/43 and Tyler Smith 1/31.

However, in reply, Delatite were all out for 179.

Some standouts in the Delatite batting were Matt Stevenson 54; Ross Brown 36; James Cousins 31 and Lachie Christopher 24.

The team hopes for a better result in this week’s last round against Warrenbayne to be played at the Lords Oval.
