Brave bowlers out in the cold

GOOD bowlers never give up de­spite the weather.

Last Tues­day saw some 16 play­ers still brave the cold – but not too wet – con­di­tions to play so­cial bowls on the syn­thetic green.

The win­ning team for the day was that of Tom Ing­pen, Nic Vatoff, Kris Humphrey and Theo Scheltinga.

On Sun­day a smaller num­ber of in­door bowlers turned up to play three games of eight ends with most teams play­ing pairs while some had a third.

Win­ners on the day were Keith Mil­lott and Pam Zierk-Ma­honey with a to­tal score of 42 af­ter win­ning all three games.

Run­ners up were Marg Ad­cock, Lorna Wick­ham and Les Blake on a score of 35.

This Sun­day In­door So­cial bowls will be played with mem­bers of the Be­nalla Bowls Club at Mans­field.

Play is set to com­mence at 11am with lunch and af­ter­noon tea in­cluded.

If you want to play on this day get your names in on the sheet as soon as pos­si­ble so se­lec­tion of teams can be drawn.
