Brave bowlers out in the cold
GOOD bowlers never give up despite the weather.
Last Tuesday saw some 16 players still brave the cold – but not too wet – conditions to play social bowls on the synthetic green.
The winning team for the day was that of Tom Ingpen, Nic Vatoff, Kris Humphrey and Theo Scheltinga.
On Sunday a smaller number of indoor bowlers turned up to play three games of eight ends with most teams playing pairs while some had a third.
Winners on the day were Keith Millott and Pam Zierk-Mahoney with a total score of 42 after winning all three games.
Runners up were Marg Adcock, Lorna Wickham and Les Blake on a score of 35.
This Sunday Indoor Social bowls will be played with members of the Benalla Bowls Club at Mansfield.
Play is set to commence at 11am with lunch and afternoon tea included.
If you want to play on this day get your names in on the sheet as soon as possible so selection of teams can be drawn.
MATCH PRACTICE: Mansfield Soccer Club players getting in some match practice were (from left) Brayden Van Winden, Eric Suggate, Matthew Empey, Hayley Moggach, Jarrah Maloney, Milo Sam Pearce and Lachy Lamont.
