What’s on at the Mansfield Armchair Cinema
WOW, two new movies this week.
Mr Holmes is our first mysterious movie, can you solve the case before he does, a great story of a great legend.
Who remembers the Griswold family travelling across USA, now the son has his own family and take the trip, is it any better now than when he was younger? A hilarious result. Did you grow up watching “The Man From Uncle”?
He has been brought to our screens, to save the world, one not to be missed.
Have you seen Last Cab To Darwin Yet, please don’t miss this one, another awesome Australian movie.
So many great movies to be seen, which one to see first?
MR HOLMES (M) - the story is set in 1947, a longretired Holmes living in a Sussex village with his housekeeper and rising detective son.
But then he finds himself haunted by an unsolved 30-year old case.
Holmes’s memory isn’t what it used to be, so he only remembers fragments of the case: a confrontation with an angry husband, a secret bond with his beautiful, but unstable wife makes one great mystery.
Starring Ian McKellen, Laura Linney and Hiroyuki Sanada.
VACATION (M) - hoping to bring his family closer together and to recreate his childhood vacation for his own kids, an adult Rusty Griswold takes his wife and two sons on a cross- country road trip to Wally World.
Needless to say, things don’t go quite as planned, just like when he travelled with his father.
Starring Ed Helms, Christina Applegate and Skyler Gisondo.
MAN FROM UNCLE - in the early 1960s, a CIA agent and a KGB operative participate in a joint mission against a mysterious criminal organisation, which is working to proliferate nuclear weapons.
Starring Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander.
LAST CAB TO DARWIN (M) - Rex is a loner, and when he’s told he doesn’t have long to live, he embarks on an epic drive through the Australian outback from Broken Hill to Darwin to die on his own terms; but his journey reveals to him that before you can end your life, you have to live it, and to live it, you’ve got to share it.
