Al Crockett accepts new presidential role, moose hat and all
THE Mansfield Apex Club held its annual changeover of leadership last Friday night.
Outgoing president Dale Andrew thanked all of the active members and ‘Greypexians’ who have helped to keep the club going throughout the year.
“We did a good job maintaining our previous commitments such as the Merrijig Rodeo, Christmas Trees, Good Friday Appeal and The Cattleman’s Gathering,” he said.
“We ended the year in a strong financial position which has enabled us to support local community groups such as the junior basketball, Auskick and the tennis association among others.
“It was great to have Boss from Venilale at the handover.
“Mansfield Apex Club helps to sponsor the Friends of Mansfield liaison officer in Venilale, so it was great to hear how things are developing over there.”
The ceremonial moose hat and chain of office was handed over to incoming president Al Crockett, as his proud father and life member Andrew Crockett watched on.
Andrew (Crockett) was president of the club in 1975.
Al Crockett thanked the club for the opportunity to lead the club over the next year.
He is looking forward to growing the club with a few new members, getting more active in helping out the community and organising more events on the social side of the club.
As his first act as president, Al inducted Norm McNeilly into the club as a member.
