Citizen of the year awards now open
NOMINATIONS for the Mansfield Shire Citizen, Senior Citizen, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year awards are now open.
Each year locals are asked to nominate someone they admire; highlighting the volunteer work done by so many local citizens, to celebrate kind and useful deeds and to recognise community service, high achievement or the valuable local contribution by a group or individual.
If you know of someone that has done a lot for the community, often with little recognition, this is your chance to put their name forward for consideration and acknowledgement.
Awards for all categories will be presented as part of the community Australia Day celebrations on Thursday, January 26 next year.
Nominations close on Monday, December 12.
For further information please call Lisa Fricke, Australia Day coordinator on 5775 8555.
The Australia Day Awards Nomination Form, which includes eligibility criteria, is available for download or can be collected from council’s customer service counter, Highett Street, Mansfield.
