Mansfield welcomes new tennis courts

Mansfield Courier - - SPORT -

IN the coming months, Mansfield will have access to a brand new tennis court.

“People will be able to come and play whenever they like,” said David Mims of the tennis association.

“It will be such a good asset to not only the club, but the entire community.”

While the works started two months ago and are well under way, the community won’t be able to make use of it for a few more months.

“Basically everything is done except for a slightly rubberised surface, which won’t be done until about September,” Mr Mims said. “They don’t like doing it in winter,” he added. Mansfield Tennis Association has been watching closely, amazed at how quickly the court has come up.

“It looks good,” said Mr Mims.

1. SEEDS: The area around the new court at Mansfield Tennis Association which was hydroseeded last week. 2. READY: Grass seed and straw put over smoothed ground ready for rain.

JACKPOT: A happy Rod Sargent after hitting his hole-in-one on the third on Saturday.
