A steady week of golf for the ladies

Mansfield Courier - - SPORT - By MARION MITCHELL

KAY Rose again proved that her game is on par, as she won the Tuesday competition from four other ladies with an all square card.

On Wednesday, 12 ladies gathered to play a stroke game, with Marg Franke-Williams showing that an extended break from golf does not influence your game.

Marg won with a nett 76 from Sue Parsons with nett 78, also winning the putting competition.

Lines balls went to Nicki Cooper and Marg Knapp with nett 79s and Meg Broomfield and Donna Sedgman with nett 80s.

Nearest the pins went to Sue Parsons on the 3rd and Glenis Skinner on the 16th.

The week tapered off with no ladies playing on Thursday and only stalwarts Sue Parsons and Millie Cumming up against each other on Saturday.

While the ladies continue to represent our club off the home green, there was no success at Avenel.

However, Donalee Ross won Division 3 at Tarrawingee, with Anne Watkins runner-up.

Good luck to the 11 ladies who will be competing in the North East District Championships this week.

GOING IN: Sheryl Sargent and Sue Parsons watch Sheryl’s ball head towards the 5th hole.
