Lacey Reeve will shave her head the day she turns 10

Mansfield Courier - - YOUTH NEWS & VIEWS -

IT has been 12 months since Lacey Reeve cut her hair.

Initially, she wanted to grow it long; like her two sisters.

But instead, on December 11, Lacey will take out a pair of clippers and shave back to nothing. “Shiny bald” she intends to be. What started out as a joke between Lacey and her mother, Sally, has grown into a fundraising drive for charity.

“Mum told me if I wasn’t going to brush it, I should shave it,” Lacey said.

A statement repeated by mothers across the world for all time.

But on this occasion, that is exactly what’s going to happen.

“On the day I turn 10, I’m going to shave it all off and donate the money to charity,” Lacey said.

“It’ll be fun to have no hair – and it will help sick kids.”

Lacey has already raised more than $500 through the World’s Greatest Shave For a Cure initiative, and hopes to hit $2000 by the time December 11 rolls around.

The shave event will be held at the Delatite Hotel, from 6pm in the Courtyard.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
