Mansfield Courier - - Sport - By MARION MITCHELL

PRIOR to the ladies’ annual general meeting on Wednesday, 26 ladies hit off for a game of Canadian Foursomes.

Shirley Nolan and Millie Cumming won the day with 74.37 net, and were followed closely by Donna Sedgman and Gayle Wells with 75.5 net.

Nearest the pins were Donna and Gayle on 3rd and 7th, and Jenny Foster and Jill Archer on the 16th.

Shirley and Millie won the straightest drive.

The ladies then enjoyed a lunch followed by the final formal AGM.

We had 37 attend the meeting, with eight of our well-loved past players present.

President of the Ladies Committee, Glenis Skinner, and captain Linda Terry, then spoke of the great year of golf, social events and the general fellowship among the Mansfield lady golfers.

The club president, Marion Sargeant, also spoke about all the happenings around the club, both past and future.

Linda Terry was re-elected as ladies captain with Sheryl Sargent as vice-captain.

While there will be no formal ladies committee in the future, there were plenty of volunteers to help with our calendar of events.

Donna Sedgman won Thursday’s Stableford with 18 points from Shirley Nolan and Gayle Wells on 17 points each.

Saturday’s Stableford was won by the team of Sue Parsons, Robyn Baker and Sheryl Sargent with 83 points from the team of Marion Sargeant, Shelly Comerford and Lorraine Cullen on 71 points.

Nearest the pins were Sue Parsons on the third and Robyn Baker on 16th.
