THIS week, De­latite A Re­serve rolled into Whorouly to take on Ovens Val­ley United.

De­latite skip­per Brett ‘Peb­bles’ Bradley won the toss and GHFLGHG WR ¿HOG ¿UVW

The Ovens Val­ley open­ers started con­vinc­ingly, with M El­liot mak­ing a hard fought 25.

Some great fast bowl­ing from Dan ‘Tex’ Walker broke through re­duc­ing the stumps to kin­dling.

The fol­low­ing Ovens bats­men failed to reach dou­ble dig­its of­fer­ing lit­tle re­sis­tance as the bowl­ing was ex­cel­lent from all six De­latite bowlers.

Luke ‘Muzz’ Mur­ray bowled with great ac­cu­racy and de­ter­mi­na­tion con­tribut­ing 2/25 off his eight overs.

Walker with a sniper like spell of 1/11 off eight, and Bradley with 2/21 off eight added to keep­ing the runs down.

Young­ster Ge­ordie McLen­nan also played im­pres­sively, with a bowl­ing spell greater WKDQ KLV ¿JXUHV UHÀHFW and also con­tribut­ing with two sharp catches.

A very crafty 2/4 off two by Ro­han Ber­ri­man stopped Ovens Val­ley in their tracks.

The only real thorn in De­latite’s side was Rhino Har­ris, with a gutsy 35.

De­latite had a very achiev­able task of chas­ing down 111 off 36 overs.

How­ever, Ovens 9DOOH\¶V ERZOLQJ RXW¿W ZDV WHUUL¿F ULJKW IURP the be­gin­ning.

De­latite lost one opener three balls in, while fel­low opener 0XUUD\ GLG D WHUUL¿F job weath­er­ing 46 sharp and ac­cu­rate de­liv­er­ies.
