● McCurdy pledges $5m

TIM McCurdy (MLA, Ovens Valley) has pledged $5 million to complete stage four of the Wangaratta High School masterplan, which will fund a community sporting and youth support hub – including double basketball courts for the school and community to use.

● But no pledge from Sally

IN other basketball news, Mansfield residents have had just one funding promise for their own dual court stadium, with current member for Eildon, Cindy McLeish, pledging $3.5 million if the Liberal Government is elected this weekend. Labor candidate, Sally Brennan, has been very vocal in her support for the project, but has not made a funding promise. Independent, Michelle Dunscombe, has also highlighted the importance of the project.
