New riverside venue for Jamieson market
JAMIESON is once again gearing up for season two of the Jamieson Farmers and Artisans Market.
This year the market site will be situated at the beautiful Picnic Grounds at the end of Grey Street on the shady banks of the stunning Jamieson River.
“The feedback received from last year’s stallholders was that they were fully supportive of changing the venue to a riverside location,” market manager Donna Ridley said.
“Subsequently, our market committee has chosen the Grey Street Picnic Grounds, next to the Jamieson Caravan Park, as the new market site.
“This year we will be hosting two twilight markets, running from 3pm to 7pm, which will be held on Saturday, December 1 and Saturday, January 5.”
Jamiesonians are already gearing up for a festive atmosphere for what they are calling their ‘Xmas Market’.
The market will offer up to 30 unique stalls, diverse entertainment and the friendly Jamieson atmosphere.
Ms Ridley hinted that there may even be a visit from Santa.
“Bring the kids out for a swim and a riverside picnic or grab a snag at the sausage sizzle,” she said.
“You can also enjoy a juice, some sushi and an Indian takeaway and savour a refreshing glass of wine by the banks of the river.”
