Father Joe off to Seaford after nine years
ON Saturday night, St Francis Xavier Parish of Mansfield farewelled Father Joe O’Shea.
Father Joe, as he prefers to be called, has been parish priest in Mansfield for more than nine years, and in his time has seen changes to his congregations, attended regular mass at Woods Point, Tolmie and Bonnie Doon as well as St Francis in Mansfield.
In recognition of his services to the community, a collection of more than $2000 was given to him to help with medical equipment he requires to continue living a long and healthy life.
Father Joe left Mansfield last week, and will take up an administration position at Seaford. No replacement has yet been announced for the position of parish priest.
