Fa­ther Joe off to Seaford af­ter nine years

ON Satur­day night, St Fran­cis Xavier Par­ish of Mans­field farewelled Fa­ther Joe O’Shea.

Fa­ther Joe, as he prefers to be called, has been par­ish priest in Mans­field for more than nine years, and in his time has seen changes to his con­gre­ga­tions, at­tended reg­u­lar mass at Woods Point, Tolmie and Bon­nie Doon as well as St Fran­cis in Mans­field.

In recog­ni­tion of his ser­vices to the com­mu­nity, a col­lec­tion of more than $2000 was given to him to help with med­i­cal equip­ment he re­quires to con­tinue liv­ing a long and healthy life.

Fa­ther Joe left Mans­field last week, and will take up an ad­min­is­tra­tion po­si­tion at Seaford. No re­place­ment has yet been an­nounced for the po­si­tion of par­ish priest.
