Building plans get bogged down

Mansfield Courier - - News -

Mr Somyurek said the website had revealed some interesting facts, including that the Strathbogie Shire had reduced its planning application turnaround time, and that the Mansfield Shire had improved its response time to food safety complaints by more than 20 per cent.

Other areas of the Know Your Council Website include local information on the Mansfield Shire Council’s finance performance, waste services, roads and animal management.

In the area of ‘community satisfaction with council decision’, there was a 10 per cent drop on last year, with the council saying “although this result is down on the 2016-17 result, it is equal to the statewide average and above that for small rural councils”.

‘Community satisfaction with sealed local roads’ dropped a whopping 23 per cent, while satisfaction with ‘sealed local roads maintained to condition standards’ rose by 5.5 per cent.

Figures are based on the official 2017-18 financial year.
