Countdown to Bike Buller Festival
THE countdown is on for the biggest biking event on our summer calendar – The Shimano Bike Buller Festival.
The festival is returning for its eleventh year, with a new and exciting two-day format with races tailored for all types of riders.
The event sees over 500-plus riders converge on Mt Buller to celebrate all things great about mountain biking across one massive weekend.
For all the riders looking to get their DGUHQDOLQH ¿[ JUDYLW\ UDFHV LQFOXGH ABOM downhill, Gravity Enduro and WKH 0W %XOOHU 6XSHU ' ¿QLVKLQJ LQ Mirimbah Park in time for the food and wine festival on the Sunday, March 10.
Watch riders battle it out for the Gravity God/Goddess title in the combined downhill races.
New in 2019, the festival will feature a 42km point-to-point cross country stage on the Australian Alpine Epic Trail.
The 20km Corn Hill Grand Prix rounds out the cross-country competition and those competing for the XC Whippet overall title.
Other events across the weekend include All Terrain Cycles’ Highline Slopestyle Competition on the dirt jumps on the Village Toboggan Slope.
Watch riders perform their best tricks and whips off the custom-built jumps – this is one to watch.
On the Sunday afternoon, Mt Buller hosts their annual food and wine festival, Picnic in the Park in Mirimbah Park at the base of the mountain.
This is the perfect event for spectators, support crew and competitors to unwind before heading back to the Mt Buller Village for the presentations and to enjoy a mountain bike movie in the cinema.
