Under 14 girls hit the courts

Mansfield Courier - - Courier Sport - By KLARISSA THOMSON

THE girls lined up for their first game together and for some, their first tournament ever.

After months of training, drills and practised plays, all went out the window when confronted by their first team who dominated all game.

Following this shock start they all settled and listened closely to coach Julie Anderson for her advice and encouragement.

As the day went on the team came together and improved outstandingly.

They found their groove and confidence in the last two games with their determined defence, dribbling, drives and layups paying off.

All of the girls walked off the court at the end of the weekend with smiles on their faces and their heads held high.

Strong drives and rebounds by Zoe Reed, Harper Anderson and Ava Mahoney, endless intercepts and defence by Zellie Nicholls and Jade Rau and great shooting by Tasia Ciarma and Annie Thomson.

Well done girls.
