Under 12 boys narrowly miss out on grand final

Mansfield Courier - - Sport - By NAT TAYLOR

ANOTHER successful basketball tournament was held in Shepparton over the weekend.

With three wins and one loss, we only missed out on finals by percentage against a team that we had beaten in what was an absolute nail biter on Sunday morning.

Sam Kain was one of our top performers both offensively and defensively scoring 39 points for the weekend.

Coming back from an ankle injury it was great to have Josh How back providing plenty of strong defensive and offensive presence.

Sam and Taj Kynnersley were terrific displaying plenty of strength boxing out/rebounding and outlet support.

Max Payne and Will’s one-on-one defence was fantastic and created many intercepts.

Dynamic duos Alex Kipping and Josh Taylor were also fantastic demonstrating plenty of athleticism and skills.

Thank you to our little champs.

Super proud of you all and can’t wait for our next hit out.

A special thanks to Michelle Kain who is our team manager extraordinaire, as well as Will King our super assistant coach/mentor and to all our very supportive parents.

BASKETBALLERS: The Under 12 boys include (back, from left) Nat Taylor, Michelle Kain, Will King, (middle) Josh Taylor, Alex Kipping, Taj Kynnersley, Sam Kain, Josh How, (front) Will Anderson, Sam Kynnersley and Max Payne.
