Bowlers get back into it

Mansfield Courier - - Sport - By LYN FOOTS

THE bowlers have had a well-earned rest coming back on the January 7 to have a game of social bowls.

Some 15 players enjoyed the day catching up after the break with the winners of the day being George Peterson, Chris Laws, Pam Zierk-Mahoney and Frank Manchester with 32 points from the runners up Noel Jackson, Glenda Revell and Marta Mueck on 19 points.

Last Saturday was to be the beginning of pennant for 2020 but with the fires causing so much destruction the O&M decided to cancel the weekend round in support of all clubs involved.

Tuesday’s pennant has also been cancelled for the same reasons with the O&M hoping to resume all regular programs this weekend.

Players are asked to check the pennant board for further updates.

Home pennant begins this week so I hope everyone has dusted off their bowls and you are raring to go.

The ladies have their 21UP event starting on the January 17 and the B Grade Champs are on the January 31 with everyone encouraged to enter.

The Men’s events resume in February with the B Grade Champs beginning on Sunday, February 2, with all members invited to enter.

Also on February 2 is the O&M Champion of Champions at Corowa Civic BC.

This date has been changed from February 9.

Good bowling to Noel Jackson and Lyn Foots who will be representing the Mansfield Bowls Club.
