Smoke and rain puts a stop to tennis
CONCERN for tennis players’ health in smoky air prevented play in Mansfield on Tuesday night last week and on Wednesday, after the air had cleared, a thunderstorm stopped players from taking to the court.
When the front came through at seven o’clock, wind and gusts forced players to retreat to the clubhouse.
Most were happy to catch up after the break and watch the torrential rain come down.
Social tennis was also cancelled on Wednesday due to the smoke haze producing poor air quality.
