Keep Mansfield healthy

Mansfield Courier - - News -

WE write to raise concern regarding the current planning application in place for the establishment of a ‘convenience restaurant’ in Mansfield.

Due to community concern we are requesting the Mansfield Shire extended the deadline from February 7, 2020, for community responses to the planning application currently before the shire.

There has been historical objections by the community to similar proposals, with over 4000 signatures in the first petition collected several years ago.

Keep Mansfield Healthy was formed in response to that community concern and has met with council on numerous occasions since to promote the issue and support council action regarding this.

So far the planning department has suggested that only the minimum 14 day period for submissions would be allowed.

We call on the councillors to extend that deadline to allow for the obvious community concern to be raised, as it would suggest that the council is railroading the application if the deadline is not extended.

We call on the councillors to step up and listen to the concern of their community.

Dr Graham Slaney, on behalf of Keep Mansfield Healthy
