Great result for Comerford at Wednesday golf
IT was another good turnout for the Mansfield lady golfers on Tuesday with 12 ladies playing a nine-hole par competition.
Glenis Skinner played very well to end up winner of Division 1 with +1 on a count back from Anne Watkins.
In Division 2 it was lovely to see Marg Gray back playing a competition round and not only that, but winning with -2 on a countback from Lorraine Wilson.
On Wednesday, it was our bi-monthly stableford Summer Cup round, and 22 ladies presented themselves on the day.
The winner of Division 1 was Sheryl Sargent with a lovely 40 points, while Shelly Comerford did even better to take out Division 2 with an outstanding 42 points.
The runners up were Lyn Poulson with 34 in Division 1 and Shirley Nolan in Division 2 with 38 points.
Line balls went to Gayle Wells 33, Donna Sedgman 32, Patsy Smiles 32, Sue Parsons 32 and Linda Brook 31.
Nearest the pins went to Sheryl Sargent on the third, Donna Sedgman on the seventh and Linda Terry on 16th.
Millie Cumming showed her bunker prowess to win that comp, and Sue Parsons took out the chipping contest.
On Thursday, the George Walker nine-hole competition is seeing lots of interest and 13 players contested this week’s round.
This week’s winner was Gayle Wells with 19 from Shirley Nolan 17 in Division 1 and Marion Foster from Pam Abbott on a countback, both 17 in Division 2.
Saturday was the Millott Concreting three-person ambrose competition with seven ladies or mixed teams contesting the event.
Winners were the combination of Donna Sedgman, Nick Jones and Dan Robertson.
Runners up were Jenny and John Koraus with Steve Bolitho, who also took out the nearest the pin on the 16th.
