THE Mansfield District Residents and Ratepayers Associatio­n took to the political battlefiel­d in seeking separation of the Delatite Shire into two smaller shires around Mansfield and Benalla, and actor Bud Tingwell put his stamp of approval on the town’s pending performing arts centre.

In sport, the Eagles squandered a decent half-time lead, going down to GVFL powerhouse Shepparton United, while the Bulldogs knocked off reigning premiers Longwood by 10 goals.
