Last game pitch for Doon reserves

-

FOR the final game of the season for Bonnie Doon’s reserve side the effort put in by the boys was very commendable.

Coming up against third placed Bright the Bombers put in their best play and came out losing the match by a mere eight points.

Both teams appeared to be evenly matched for this last home and away side despite being five apart on the ladder (Bright 3rd and Bonnie Doon 8th).

At the end of the first term Doon were 1.0.6 to Bright’s 2.1.13.

Half time scores saw both teams sitting on 19 points apiece - level pegging and both putting in their best efforts Doon still had a chance to take out the game.

But it was Bright that came out in the third term just a little stronger than the Bombers.

Bright put on a further three goals 3 points to take their score up to 40 points at three quarter time while Doon managed only one goal for the term.

But the Bomber boys did not give up the fight and in the final term they added two goals one behind to bring their final score up to 38 points while the Bright boys only managed one goal in the final term giving them their final score of 46 points.

The Bombers now sit out the finals and look forward to again hitting the field, stronger and with higher hopes for the next season.

Well done Bomber reserves for a great season.
