Because of limited shop /, ! ! %* */Ɯ!( can accommodate only a small membership approximately 17 members with a maximum of 20.

“Membership is pretty tightly held since the shop is in a great position in the main street and the group

both locals and visitors,” group vice president Rosemary Lloyd said. “Anecdotally, most of

! %* */Ɯ!( ƍ/ / (!/ are to visitors but there is also a strong following of local people who have the shop as their go-to for unique gifts and home décor items.”

Recently some of the ‘older’ members ‘retired’ so the group is now seeking expressions of interest from new and local artists to join them.

“We’ve also recently done a bit of a spruce up to the shop,” Rosemary said.

“The shop now has new lighting to showcase artists’ work and a new sales desk that opens up the display

customers.”

Over the past two months the group has welcomed new members Richard

Power, of Maintongoon Woodwork, and Carolyn Sheather, well known artist and teacher who recently moved back to Victoria after many successful years in Queensland.

Carolyn is an established artist of some renown while Richard is starting out and hoping to make a name for himself (see separate stories in this feature).
