Because of limited shop /, ! ! %* */Ɯ!( can accommodat­e only a small membership approximat­ely 17 members with a maximum of 20.

“Membership is pretty tightly held since the shop is in a great position in the main street and the group

both locals and visitors,” group vice president Rosemary Lloyd said. “Anecdotall­y, most of

! %* */Ɯ!( ƍ/ / (!/ are to visitors but there is also a strong following of local people who have the shop as their go-to for unique gifts and home décor items.”

Recently some of the ‘older’ members ‘retired’ so the group is now seeking expression­s of interest from new and local artists to join them.

“We’ve also recently done a bit of a spruce up to the shop,” Rosemary said.

“The shop now has new lighting to showcase artists’ work and a new sales desk that opens up the display


Over the past two months the group has welcomed new members Richard

Power, of Maintongoo­n Woodwork, and Carolyn Sheather, well known artist and teacher who recently moved back to Victoria after many successful years in Queensland.

Carolyn is an establishe­d artist of some renown while Richard is starting out and hoping to make a name for himself (see separate stories in this feature).
