Terry/ Wells win RWH 4BBB qualifier

- By LINDA TERRY

ON Wednesday last week the lady golfers of the Mansfield Golf Club were fortunate to be able to get in one main competition in between all the lockdowns.

This was a 4BBB club qualifier for the Golf Vic Royal Women’s Hospital fundraiser.

With lovely spring-like conditions, 20 ladies paired up to give it their best.

The golf was fun and the social catch up at the end even better - and it turned out to be our last opportunity for another few weeks.

Winners with a Stableford score of 38 points were Linda Terry and Gayle Wells.

Runner up with 36 points were the pairing of Nicki Cooper and Sam Bailey on a countback from Jackie Smithwick/Pauline Ahola and Lyn Poulson/Sue Crow.

Both these pairs winning a line ball, along with Linda Brook/Shelly Comerford and Millie Cumming/ Marion Foster.

Nearest the pins went to Linda Terry on the 3rd, Nicki Cooper on the 7th and Sam Bailey on the 16th.

Bailey also had the best third shot on the 18th.

Lorraine Wilson and Nicki Cooper shared the prize in the chipping contest.

The winners’ entry will be submitted to Golf Vic for comparison with winners of other participating clubs, to determine the overall state winners.

And so to another lockdown..cie la vie.

APOLOGY: Last week the Courier published a photo of Linda Brook declaring she won the ladies championship when in fact it was Shelley Comerford apologies for any upset.
