Golf returns after yet another short hiatus

- By Phil Conway

GOLF returned this week but with a restriction of no competitions to be held.

Despite this the members had an enjoyable day on both Friday and Saturday with good representation from both the ladies and fellas on both Friday and Saturday.

The scores weren’t overly flash with the lack of practice over the last few weeks, but everyone was glad to be back on the paddock.

Friday’s return found 45 players out enjoying their freedom and some exercise out on a soft but well maintained track.

A social game of Stableford was held for those playing.

The best scores were Bill Parsons leading the field, with Rob Fankhauser and Bob Speed also returning some reasonable scores.

There was at least one shot on target for the day with Rod Sargent letting the contact tracers know that he hit the 18th green.

Saturday was a social round of Stableford multiplication.

With 50 players out on the paddock rivalry was certainly to be expected.

Although there was no official competition the bets in the groups certainly kept the players on their toes, with

some of the better scores going to the pairings of Paul Lange and Phil Conway, Rod Sargent and Kane Blunt, and Dean Seccull and Andrew Osborne.

Our trainee pro Blair also showed us he is coming back to form with a great shot on the 18th.

Until we can return to normal competition, we will continue to have social golf on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for the fellas.
